Hello world! My name is Carter McLaren. I am an inspired film maker, editor, photographer, and actor. My goal is to share my creative journey and show all my projects with everyone. This page is just for you to get to know me a little better
A little about myself
When I was young, my parents took me and my sister to the movies, a lot. but that’s where I grew my interest in movies, I didn’t know yet what I wanted to do in life, all I knew is that I loved movies. when I was 16, I stepped into acting, took classes, got represented, and have acted in a few short films since 2023. Currently I go to BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) where I’m currently studying for the Part Time Video Editing and Production Certificate.
My Filmmaking Goals
Part of what I like about movies is that they make us escape reality, where we can go on a journey with the main protagonist and fix the issue head on. While I like that, my goal is to break the rules and create something both visually unique and immersive. With my acting background, I can bring something special to the table, and I want to show that with the world.

It’s interesting how a love of movies from childhood eventually led you into acting, photography, editing, and filmmaking. I also think your experience as an actor gives you a unique perspective behind the camera, allowing you to better understand storytelling and character development.
